Maria Lugo is the Founder of M.A. Lugo & Associates, a licensed life insurance broker, and a licensed Texas REALTOR® with the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS®) designation. With more than two decades of experience, Maria has built a respected reputation helping families, professionals, and business owners protect their financial foundations through thoughtful insurance, benefits, and real estate strategies.

Maria’s professional background began in corporate human resources and employee benefits, where her insurance licensing enabled her to move beyond traditional HR administration into a consultative role. She later expanded her expertise through work with multiple Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), supporting hospitals, school districts, law firms, and small to mid-sized businesses. In these roles, she guided employees and employers through complex benefit decisions involving health insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, accident protection, and supplemental insurance solutions tailored to individual and family needs.
Her experience includes retirement-focused insurance planning and cash-value life insurance strategies featuring living benefits and policy loan capabilities. Maria is also experienced in structuring life insurance solutions used as collateral support for SBA lending opportunities, helping business owners preserve liquidity while pursuing growth objectives.
Combined with her real estate background, Maria offers clients a practical and integrated perspective on long-term financial organization, asset protection, and legacy-focused planning strategies.
Born in New York and fluent in both English and Spanish, Maria has lived in Canada and several U.S. cities while maintaining strong professional relationships throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and North America. Her multicultural perspective and educational approach have helped her build lasting relationships across diverse communities.
